The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has approved a $32 billion capital plan, where New Jersey received more funding than New York for the first time in history. New Jersey will receive $1.5 billion for the expansion of the PATH, which will make Newark the dominant airport in the region; $3.5 billion to renovate the Port Authority Bus Terminal; and $4.5 billion toward the Gateway tunnel project. The new PA Bus Terminal would be constructed by 2030, while the PATH rail system will extend to Newark Liberty International Airport.
